F2BF Under Construction

blog10Well, this is goodbye for now but not forever. I’m REALLY hoping and praying that the switch, to self-hosting, goes smoother than what I’m anticipating.

I have been doing my research and utilizing my friend, Kayla, as a resource. She just switched to self-host and her blog is looking AMAZING, so it gives me hope and excitement for what’s to come. Don’t forget about me during this transition – I’ll be back asap with lot’s of fun stuff planned for y’all. 🙂

Before I go, here is a quick recap from the week so far:

I have been a good girl this week and have stuck to my food and fitness plans. I did enjoy one glass of Merlot on Tuesday night, but that’s because it was a special occasion…

blog5WWE and Merlot go perfectly together. Right?! There were tickets available for free in the company suite, where I work, so I swooped them up. When I was younger, my brother and I LOVED wrestling – like Mankind, Undertaker, Stone Cold days… anyway, I was basically fulfilling my childhood dreams. (Nerd alert) Haha! 🙂 It was quite the experience.

Food for the week has been the usual, eggs for breakfast

blog3salads for lunch

blog6and thrown together dinners of protein, veggies and sometimes a carb!

blog2I’ve had ‘dessert’ a few nights of one or two Shakeology Balls.

blog4Workouts have been continuing – today is day 11 – woot! I don’t feel overworked or sore, so I’m good without a rest day. However, I’ll thoroughly enjoy it when it gets here on Saturday!

blog1I’ve done upper body, Renegade, and last night was FitZone.

blog7Today I’m doing light cardio and abs at lunch then Renegade tonight and Friday will conclude with lower body.

We’re celebrating my birthday all weekend, so I’m going to enjoy rest days, sleeping in, time with family, friends and Dan, a few adult beverages, a pedicure with Ashley, as well as, brunch with her, my mom and grandma, the SUPER BOWL, some desserts and maybe some dancing!

I’d love to say that I’ll have a fun recap, but I just don’t think I’ll be up and running. I hope you have a great rest of your week and fabulous weekend. I’ll be back soon!

F2BF Food + Fitness This Week

I have a fantastic week of workouts ahead. I think planning my workouts for the week is one of my favorite lists to create. I get excited about incorporating new classes and creating new circuits for myself. Last night at Renegade, we did a ‘Ladder’ workout at the end of class, meaning we had three exercises that we needed to complete 10 times, then 9, then 8, etc. all the way until 1 (or until the 5 minutes were up).

Since so many people are stuck inside, due to the cold weather, (it was -10 here this morning) I thought I’d create a similar one for you, using only body weight exercises, that you can do at home!

blog11After going through the ladder 10 times, I bet you’ll work up a great sweat and feel like jello! I plan on doing this workout on Saturday morning. 🙂 Don’t forget to PIN it so you can refer back to it in the future.

Here’s how the rest of the week looks:

Monday – Turbo Stretch/Turbo Abs + Renegade
Tuesday – Lower Body Lift
Wednesday – FitZone
Thursday – Turbo Abs/Renegade
Friday – Upper Body Lift
Saturday – Body Weight Circuit
Sunday – A day of glorious rest!

Since I’ve worked out the last eight days and will continue until the weekend, I’m ok if I choose sleeping in over the circuit on Saturday. I know my body needs the rest as much as it needs the sweat sessions!

I don’t have any exciting plans for food this week like the yummy recipes I made last week. I’m such a creature of habit and tend to stick with what works for me, but here’s what I’m thinking.

Breakfast :: eggs/spinach/hot sauce/sometimes with fruit and coffee OR Shakeology

Lunch :: Salads – this week it’s spring mix, cucumber, black beans, avocado, goat cheese, and chicken with ACV and balsamic

Dinners :: turkey breast with brown rice and roasted broccoli, fajita bowl with leftover turkey, brown rice, green pepper, onion, greek yogurt, black bean and corn salsa over a bed of lettuce, and eggs with Morningstar Sausage.

Easy does it!

A few blog updates:

– I have added a Pinterest button at the bottom of posts to make it easy to pin! It’ll be even easier once I make the switch to self host. 🙂
– I have been chosen to be a POPSUGAR Select Fitness Blogger – see the new badge?! They contacted me about two weeks ago and I’m very excited to begin working with them!
– Just a reminder that the blog will be down for a bit once I begin the switch to self host – I appreciate your patience, as I’m going to be overwhelmed with the new layout of things!

I see a lot of fun stuff in store for F2BF in the coming year. To all my old and new readers, thank you for taking time to read my ramblings, I hope you’ll keep coming back and don’t be shy, I love reading your comments!

What’s on your fitness plan this week? Any new classes? How about meals? Anything good? I need some new ideas!

Hello and Happy Monday!

I woke up this morning really hoping for a Snow Day. All of the schools in our area are closed, it’s so freaking cold with blowing snow and we had a Level 2 Snow Emergency (we only close at Level 3). Emily, a girl I work with, text me telling me she’s not coming in today and I was so jealous – part of me considered calling off, too, but then I remembered how much more I’ll enjoy a random day off when it’s 80 degrees out!

How was your weekend? Mine was very quiet, relaxing and productive. Even though I was sad to not be with Dan, I made the most of it and enjoyed the ‘me’ time by doing everything I love.

Friday night, after work, I went over to my sister’s house for a slumber party! I enjoyed one glass of red wine and we just hung out and chit chatted until we called it at night at 10:30. Party animals!

My body clock woke me up at 6:45 and I was happy to roll over and fall back asleep – I didn’t wake again until 9:00 and man it felt good!

I headed back to my house where I made eggs and coffee before I headed to TRX class.

blog1I walked into class and no one was there yet. Eventually another girl arrived and I chatted with her about class and what to expect. There ended up only being 3 girls (including me) in class, so it was nice to have individual attention from the instructor on some of the moves I wasn’t as familiar with.

blog2At the end of class, we did handstands – so cool! We locked our feet into the straps and walked our way up on our hands until our feet we’re almost off the ground and flicked them into the air – like this. I felt pretty bad-ass doing it and I definitely felt it on Sunday morning – my core is still sore. I guess there is an earlier class that includes sprints in between TRX moves and that sounds a bit more up my alley. Class was cool and I was sore, but I like to feel my heart race and the sweat pouring down my face – you know what I’m saying?!

After class, I ran some errands and then headed home for lunch – I was starving!

blog5One of my favorites – Sante Fe Salad – which included, spring mix, chicken, TJ’s black bean and corn salsa, tortilla chips and greek yogurt/salsa dressing. It hit the spot!

The rest of the day and night was pretty chill. I had homemade chicken chunks for dinner and watched We Are The Millers – hilarious movie!!

I slept in again, ahhh! 🙂 Then, I watched the news, looked at the ads and enjoyed some coffee.

blog6I needed some breakfast, but really wasn’t feeling eggs, so I made one piece of Ezekiel toast with pb and banana.

blog7I used that as my pre-workout fuel and made myself head right downstairs for some cardio. Typically, Sunday is my rest day, but I was feeling good and a little extra cardio never hurt anyone. I popped in my favorite form of cardio and got to work!

TurboFire 45

blog8Yea, baby!

I made another salad for lunch – this time with spring mix, banana peppers, goat cheese, black beans and chicken with ACV and a bit of light caesar since my balsamic is at work.

blog9Really good combo!

The rest of the afternoon I spent meal prepping and making Vanilla Shakeology Power Bites. I basically used this recipe but made a few changes.

blog12They are pretty legit and I calculated them down to 60 calories per ball. Not terrible and better than the Oatmeal Raisin White Chocolate Chip Cookies I also baked and am trying to pawn off. 😉

Meal prep:

blog10Typical salads for lunch.

I spent the evening watching E! Red Carpet for Gammy’s and the Bachelor Wedding. All in all it was a lovely, low key, weekend. I enjoyed getting my workouts in, eating healthy and not being hungover!

Next weekend we’re celebrating my birthday, so it might be a different story…
